Requirements

  • Master's degree from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible leadership experience in higher education.
  • Experience leading faculty, curriculum development, academic operations, and continuous quality improvement.
  • Demonstrated experience with accreditation, assessment, and institutional effectiveness.
  • Proven success leading organizational change, strategic initiatives, and cross-functional collaboration.

Nice To Haves

  • Doctoral degree in Higher Education, Education, Liberal Arts, or a related discipline.
  • Experience implementing competency-based education.
  • Leadership experience supporting online and hybrid learning environments.
  • Experience advancing faculty development and instructional innovation.
  • Experience with regional accreditation processes, assessment systems, and learning analytics.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategic direction, development, implementation, assessment, and continuous improvement of the General Education curriculum.
  • Ensure alignment with institutional learning outcomes, competency-based education principles, accreditation standards, workforce needs, and best practices in higher education.
  • Foster academic excellence by promoting rigorous, student-centered instruction and innovative teaching practices across all General Education courses.
  • Recruit, mentor, develop, and support a high-performing team of faculty and academic leaders committed to student success.
  • Champion evidence-based curriculum design, instructional innovation, and interdisciplinary collaboration across the University.
  • Lead initiatives that improve student persistence, retention, progression, and graduation through proactive academic support and data-informed interventions.
  • Oversee remediation strategies and student success initiatives that strengthen college readiness and help students overcome academic barriers.
  • Advance online, hybrid, asynchronous, and technology-enhanced learning while thoughtfully integrating emerging educational technologies and artificial intelligence.
  • Partner with Institutional Research, Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, Advising, Disability Services, and other university leaders to improve learning outcomes and the overall student experience.
  • Oversee assessment, accreditation readiness, regulatory compliance, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
  • Serve as a key member of the Academic Leadership Team, contributing to institutional strategy, resource planning, and university-wide initiatives.
