About The Position

Coordinates daily activities of workers engaged in the receiving, shipping, loading, unloading, transportation, materials handling, and order fulfillment. Reviews shipping documents for accuracy and directs the movement of materials and products to different manufacturing plants, customer pickups, customer shipments, carriers, and other areas. Performs all these activities in compliance with the company’s personnel safety, food safety, and food quality systems, as well as the 5s methodology.

Requirements

  • College or High School Diploma
  • Bilingual English/Spanish - Required
  • General knowledge of the proper use of parts manuals and supply catalogs
  • Able to react proactively to shipment delays in order to escalate to next management levels.
  • Basic mathematics.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Access).
  • Previous experience working in a warehouse shipping and/or receiving department.
  • Clerical experience working in an office environment.
  • Good math and problem-solving skills.
  • Computer literate and knowledgeable in Microsoft Office programs.
  • Advanced understanding of BAAN.
  • Advanced understanding of inventory management.
  • Principles and practices of inventory management/control and work safety.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent verbal & telephone skills.

Nice To Haves

  • CMMS systems experience such as SAP, EAM, Etc. a plus but not required.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates daily activities of workers engaged in receiving, shipping, loading, unloading, material handling, order filling, and maintaining an organized work area.
  • Reviews shipping, receiving, and importation documents and directs the movement of materials and products with forklift drivers, departments, and other areas.
  • Checks for accuracy in documents and assigns resources to ensure the physical material matches the document quantity.
  • Follows up with any missing documentation such as Certificate of Origin or Invoice, reaching out to the appropriate department (e.g., US/MEX customs, MRO/buyers, Finance, Customs) for importations.
  • Ensures information is available in a timely manner.
  • Prepares work orders, manifests, BOLs, packing lists, and certificates of exportation for raw materials and parts as necessary.
  • Instructs the clerk on data entry needed to create documents.
  • Oversees storage items, inventory records, and distribution of materials.
  • Maintains accurate records and prepares and submits required paperwork.
  • Works as a backup when leads or clerks are out.
  • Updates a perpetual, computerized (EAM) inventory control with daily receipts.
  • Complies with and enforces food quality and food safety standards.
  • Complies with and enforces Good Distribution Practices (GDPs).
  • Helps oversee the completion of duties and events.
  • Delegates tasks to appropriate team members.
  • Works closely with management to meet deadlines and progress across the team.
  • Collects and analyzes feedback from internal customers to gauge satisfaction and success.
  • Performs other relevant duties as required.
