About The Position

Responsible for directing the daily outbound operations of the shipping/loading department within a distribution center. Assist in ensuring compliance and productivity are maintained while providing leadership and guidance to team members.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Excellent leadership abilities with a focus on customer service
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to read and match numerical and alpha characters quickly and accurately
  • Basic computer skills

Nice To Haves

  • College degree or logistics certification
  • 2+ years previous supervisory experience
  • Completion of O'Reilly supervisor training program
  • Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish is highly desired)
  • Advanced computer skills

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of the shipping/loading department.
  • Assist in ensuring that the department is compliant with company operations, policies, and procedures on a daily basis.
  • Work with the operations and DC managers to maintain payroll figures, budgeting, productivity, etc. within the departments.
  • Responsible for performing scheduled evaluations on team members.
  • Provide leadership, training, and guidance throughout the department and work to ensure productivity and morale are maintained at a high level.
  • Work with managers to establish annual goals and the plan to follow for accomplishing these goals.
  • Work closely with the human resources supervisor and the operations manager to ensure effective recruiting, hiring, and training practices.
  • Assist the operations and DC managers with planning to prepare annual capital expenditure listing for budgeting purposes.
  • Work with operations and DC managers for approval on any expenditure for the department.
  • Maintain safety standards while operating and identify unsafe practices and situations.
  • All other duties as assigned.
