About The Position

Responsible for directing the day-to-day outbound operations of the order processing department within a distribution center. This role involves overseeing all aspects of the order processing department, ensuring compliance with company operations, policies, and procedures. The DC Supervisor will collaborate with operations managers and DC managers on payroll, budgeting, and productivity, and is responsible for timely team member evaluations. This position provides leadership, training, and guidance to the department, focusing on maintaining high levels of productivity and morale. The role also involves working with management to establish annual goals, planning for their accomplishment, and ensuring effective recruiting, hiring, and training practices in conjunction with Human Resources. Additionally, the DC Supervisor assists with capital expenditure planning and departmental expenditures, while maintaining and identifying safety standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Must be able to multitask and work well in a team environment
  • Excellent leadership abilities with a focus on customer service
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to read and match numerical and alphabetical characters quickly and accurately

Nice To Haves

  • College degree or logistics certification
  • 2+ years previous experience in a supervisor role
  • Advanced computer skills
  • Completion of the O’Reilly supervisor training program
  • Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish is highly desired)

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of the order processing department.
  • Ensure the department is compliant with company operations, policies, and procedures daily.
  • Work with operations managers and DC managers to maintain payroll figures, budgeting, and productivity.
  • Ensure team member evaluations are written and delivered in a timely manner.
  • Provide leadership, training, and guidance throughout the department.
  • Work to ensure productivity and morale are maintained at a high level.
  • Work with the Operations and DC manager to establish annual goals and the plan to follow for accomplishing these goals.
  • Work closely with the Human Resources Supervisor and the Operations Manager to ensure effective recruiting, hiring, and training practices.
  • Assist the operations and DC managers with planning to prepare annual capital expenditure listing for budgeting purposes.
  • Work with the DC manager for approval on any expenditure for the department.
  • Maintain safety standards while operating and identify unsafe practices and situations.
  • All other duties as assigned.
