About The Position

Potbelly Sandwich Shop is hiring a Daytime Team Member to provide fast, friendly, and efficient customer service and deliver consistent, quality products in a clean and inviting environment. Team Members work across shop stations, help open the shop, prepare food, serve customers, and contribute to a welcoming, energetic workplace. The role offers pay of $13.75 to $14.25 per hour plus digital tips; Potbelly does not guarantee tip earnings. Applicants must be at least 16 years old. Illinois employees must become food safety certified within 30 days of employment.

Requirements

Be at least 16 years of age.
Have a friendly, customer-first mindset and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, energetic environment.
Have strong written and verbal communication skills.
Be comfortable working in a bustling kitchen environment.
Be able to manage potential allergens, including peanut products, egg, dairy, gluten, soy, seafood, and shellfish.
Be a team player.
Be able to stand or walk for a minimum of 3 hours or as needed.
Be able to lift up to 10 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Illinois employees must become food safety certified within 30 days of employment.

Nice To Haves

Knife skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

Work multiple stations, including load, dress, shakes, cash, prep, and front, as directed by a Shift Leader or Manager.
Comply with food health, cleanliness, and safety standards.
Restock the food line, chips, and cooler.
Efficiently prepare quality sandwiches, salads, soups, cookies, ice cream, and other products.
Use the automatic slicer to prepare food items if 18 or older.
Clean tables, counters, floors, bathrooms, kitchen areas, and utensils; take out trash.
Operate the cash register and follow cash handling procedures, including handling and balancing cash.
Effectively handle customer complaints and issues.
Take delivery, catering, and pickup orders over the phone.
Perform other duties as assigned.
