Daytime Team Member
About The Position
Potbelly Sandwich Shop is seeking friendly and outgoing Team Members to provide customers with fast, friendly, and efficient service and a quality, consistent product in a clean and inviting environment. Team Members may work across several shop stations, help open the shop, prepare food, serve customers, and contribute to an energetic daytime team. The position requires availability during the morning and day shift window of 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.; applicants do not need to be available for the entire window. Applicants must be at least 16 years old. Illinois employees must become food safety certified within 30 days of employment.
Requirements
- At least 16 years of age.
- Friendly, customer-first mindset and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, energetic environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfort working in a bustling kitchen environment.
- Ability to manage potential allergens, including peanut products, egg, dairy, gluten, soy, seafood, and shellfish.
- Team-player attitude.
- Ability to stand or walk for a minimum of 3 hours or as needed.
- Ability to lift up to 10 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Illinois employees must become food safety certified within 30 days of employment.
Nice To Haves
- Knife skills are a plus.
Responsibilities
- Work multiple stations, including load, dress, shakes, cash, prep, and front, as directed by a Shift Leader or Manager.
- Comply with health and safety standards for food, cleanliness, and safety.
- Restock the food line, chips, and cooler.
- Prepare sandwiches, salads, soups, cookies, ice cream, and other finished products efficiently and to quality standards.
- Use the automatic slicer to prepare food items if 18 or older.
- Clean tables, counters, floors, bathrooms, the kitchen, and utensils; take out trash.
- Operate the cash register and follow cash-handling procedures, including handling and balancing cash.
- Effectively handle customer complaints and issues.
- Take delivery, catering, and pickup orders over the phone.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
