About The Position

The Day Shift Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for leading all inbound receiving, put-away, replenishment, facilities maintenance, and inventory control activities during first shift. This role owns inventory accuracy, inbound product flow, space utilization, and system integrity to ensure the distribution center is positioned for successful outbound execution. The supervisor leads our leads and associates across receiving and inventory control functions, enforces safety and food-handling standards, and drives continuous improvement through disciplined processes, data analysis, and cross-shift coordination.

Requirements

5+ years of warehouse or distribution operations experience with a strong focus on inbound receiving and inventory control.
Prior leadership experience managing teams in a distribution or foodservice environment.
Strong understanding of inventory control best practices, cycle counting, and root-cause analysis.
Proven ability to drive accuracy, discipline, and accountability in fast-paced operations.
Proficiency with WMS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

Lead and oversee all day-shift inbound operations including receiving, inspection, verification, and put-away.
Ensure accurate and timely receipt of inbound purchase orders.
Coordinate Capstone & Managed Receiving schedule, labor planning, and space utilization to support daily inbound volumes.
Ensure product is properly staged, slotted, and replenished to support outbound picking requirements.
Maintain clear communication and handoff with second shift leadership to ensure site readiness.
Own inventory control processes including cycle counts, audits, adjustments, and root-cause analysis.
Ensure high levels of system and physical inventory accuracy through disciplined execution.
Identify and resolve discrepancies related to receiving errors, damages, shortages, and system issues.
Partner with procurement, planning, and operations leadership to address recurring inventory risks.
Maintain accurate product locations, slotting integrity, and replenishment standards.
Lead, coach, and develop inventory control and receiving leads and associates.
Establish clear performance expectations and accountability across inbound and IC functions.
Conduct regular performance feedback, coaching, and corrective action as needed.
Support hiring, onboarding, training, and skill development for day-shift warehouse staff.
Partner with HR to ensure consistent application of company policies and employee relations.
Identify and implement process improvements to reduce errors, improve throughput, and optimize space.
Use data, KPIs, and employee feedback to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Standardize inbound and inventory control processes to improve repeatability and reliability.
Partner cross-functionally with Transportation, Outbound Operations, and IT to improve end-to-end execution.
Enforce OSHA, food safety, and company safety policies across all inbound and inventory activities.
Conduct safety audits, equipment inspections, and compliance checks.
Investigate inbound damages, safety incidents, and near-misses with corrective follow-up.
Ensure product integrity, cleanliness, and temperature compliance where applicable.
Ensure effective use of the Warehouse Management System (WMS) and scanning technology.
Train and hold teams accountable for accurate system transactions and data integrity.
Analyze WMS and Excel-based reports to track inventory accuracy, receiving performance, and trends.
Support system enhancements and inventory-related technology initiatives.
