About The Position

People Creating Success (PCS) is seeking a Day Program Instructor for Adults with Developmental Disabilities in Newbury Park, CA. This role is for individuals who value people and connection, enjoy being active, and want to share their knowledge to enrich the lives of others. The Day Program Instructor will lead and support participants in health and wellness activities, participate in community outings, collaborate on personalized curricula, and record progress of care plans. PCS has been a leader in providing services for adults with developmental disabilities for over 20 years, with a mission to help individuals pursue career, educational, and life goals.

Requirements

• Someone who is compassionate with a person-centered mindset.
• Someone who is encouraging, able to guide, and support participants in a respectful manner.
• A valid driver’s license.
• CPR / First Aid certification (Training will be provided if you’re not certified or need to be recertified).

Responsibilities

• Lead and support participants in health and wellness activities such as exercise classes with certified trainers, yoga sessions with certified instructors, cooking classes focused on nutrition, and health education and healthy eating habits.
• Participate in community outings using company vans or public transportation.
• Collaborate with participants on a personalized curriculum tailored to each participant’s goal - mindful of academics, socialization, and more.
• Record keep progress of care plan.
