About The Position

Corlann Limerick is seeking applications for the position of Day Activities Facilitator in Limerick City & West Limerick. Both permanent full-time and fixed-term full-time contracts are available. Positions are available in Autism-specific units as well as general ID services. Corlann supports people with intellectual disabilities to be valued citizens in their local community, to have ordinary life experiences, and to be closely connected to family and friends. The organization seeks bright, ambitious individuals with a positive attitude towards working with persons with an intellectual disability, committed to ensuring that those supported lead as normal and enjoyable a life as possible.

Requirements

Have a third level qualification relevant to the provision of service to individuals with intellectual disabilities or at a minimum a QQI Level 5 Major Award (Full 8 modules) in community development, health or education.
Hold a Full Manual Driving License which qualifies you to drive manual transmission vehicles on Irish Roads.
Have a working knowledge of HSE’s New Directions Standards for Day Services & the Person Centred planning process.
Competence in conflict resolution.

Responsibilities

Work as a member of a team.
Participate in the development and implementation of appropriate programmes suitable to the individual needs and abilities of people supported by the services.
Ensure the welfare and wellbeing of the service user is the prime consideration at all times.
Work with people who have a learning disability.
Empower people with sometimes quite divergent points of view.
