About The Position

The Database Administrator supports North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) on the Integrated Tactical Warning/Attack Assessment (ITW/AA) and Space Support Contract II (NISSC II). This role involves providing database administration support for all DRSN systems, including Secure Voice Responsible (SVRO) and Telephone Control Officer (TCO) additional duties. The candidate will be responsible for generating accounts, controlling access, performing update/change management, administering databases through installation, replacement, and configuration for testing, and documenting incidents. They will also develop and implement system documentation and operating procedures, identify and correct processing anomalies, and coordinate the test and installation of network connections. The role includes configuring and debugging network equipment, researching and installing new computer equipment (hardware and software), providing server, workstation, and system expertise (including travel), overseeing hardware and software orders and replacements (including warranty claims), and implementing functions with data and documentation management. Support is required for monitoring, installing, and maintaining DRSN systems, software, networks, and equipment, responding to user requests, performing on-the-spot diagnostics, implementing corrections, and training users. The position also involves providing support for approved DRSN software, performing upgrades, training staff, maintaining daily logs, and supporting 24/7 maintenance, modification, and installation of the secure Defense Red Switch Network, cryptographic equipment (e.g., KIV-7M), and instruments (IST, STE, and STU-III). Initial and recurring training for DRSN users is also a responsibility, as is updating the equipment database and ensuring the REMEDY ticketing system is kept up to date on DRSN trouble tickets. Shift work may be required to support 24x7 operations, including nights, weekends, and holidays on a modified Panama schedule.

Requirements

  • 2 years or more of directly related experience
  • 5 years or more of general work experience
  • Work shifts in support of 24x7 operations
  • Ability to report to work and remain on site for extended periods of time during emergencies and drills.
  • Experience or knowledge as a System Administrator/DBA
  • Experience with Telephone maintenance
  • DSS-2A Certification is required
  • Must meet the DoD 8570 IAT II certification eligibility requirements (e.g., Security+ CE)

Responsibilities

  • Provide data-base administration support for all DRSN systems to include Secure Voice Responsible (SVRO) and Telephone Control Officer (TCO) additional duties.

  • Performs and provides server, workstation, and system expertise including on-site and off-site travel.
  • Oversee the order and replacement of new hardware and software, including warranty claims.
  • Implement functions with data and documentation management of systems.
  • Provide support to monitor, install, and perform maintenance on DRSN, software, networks, and equipment applicable to the DRSN.
  • Respond to DRSN system user requests for assistance.
  • Perform on-the-spot diagnostic evaluations, implementation of corrections and training users in proper operations of DRSN systems/programs.
  • Provide support for approved DRSN software, perform upgrades to all computer platforms, train staff, and maintain daily logs.
  • Support 24/7 maintenance, modification, and installation of the secure Defense Red Switch Network, cryptographic equipment (i.e., KIV-7M), and instruments (IST, STE, and STU-III).
  • Provide DRSN initial and recurring training for all users.
  • Update the equipment database to help ensure inventory is kept up to date.
  • Ensure the REMEDY ticketing system is kept up to date on DRSN trouble tickets for problem/resolution to exceed customer repair requirements.
