About The Position

Our client is seeking an experienced Database Administrator 2 to support the administration, development, performance, security, and ongoing optimization of enterprise database and data warehouse environments. This role will provide technical expertise across database administration, data warehousing, data modeling, ETL, performance tuning, database security, backup and recovery, and analytical reporting environments. The ideal candidate will bring at least 5 years of relevant experience and have a strong understanding of enterprise-class database technologies, data warehouse architecture, ETL processes, and reporting solutions.

Implementation experience with enterprise-class databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, Teradata, or comparable relational database technologies.
Experience implementing or supporting analytical and reporting platforms such as BusinessObjects, Cognos, Hyperion, MicroStrategy, or comparable enterprise reporting and analytics platforms.
Strong database administration and troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

Administer, maintain, monitor, and optimize integrated enterprise database systems.
Create and maintain production database environments.
Monitor database performance, storage utilization, record distribution, memory availability, and overall system efficiency.
Perform database and SQL performance tuning and recommend improvements.
Analyze proposed database changes and determine potential impacts to applications, systems, users, and related processes.

Create and maintain test database environments, libraries, and procedures for application development and testing.
Provide technical assistance to application teams and end users regarding database functionality and data access.
Support accessible methods for users to enter, view, retrieve, and report data.
Maintain technical documentation related to database architecture, standards, procedures, and operational processes.
