Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory has an opening for a Software Engineer in the National Security Engineering Division within the Engineering Directorate. The role supports software development for ASD Scorpius, a next-generation linear induction accelerator designed to generate precisely timed, high-energy X-ray images during subcritical experiments. The software helps scientists and engineers access, understand, and interact with accelerator and experimental data. Working at the intersection of software, data, controls, and experimental science, the engineer will develop data-visualization and user-interface capabilities that connect data-recall systems, databases, and accelerator controls. The position offers collaboration with software developers, controls engineers, scientists, and project personnel, with software progressing through development, integration, and commissioning. The position requires full-time on-site presence and requires eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.
