About The Position

Leidos Digital Modernization Group is seeking a Data Analytics & Visualization Engineer to join the Real-Time Visibility (RTV) team within the Global Solution Management – Operations II (GSM-O II) contract and the Global Automations & Intelligent Network Solutions (GAINS) Team. The role transforms raw data into clean, reliable, accessible datasets and delivers actionable insights through analytics and visualizations. Kibana is the primary visualization platform; experience with similar tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Grafana is preferred. As part of a fast-paced Agile development and implementation team, the engineer will help architect, design, and develop a unified UX/UI that provides a holistic single-pane-of-glass interface on the Kibana platform. The role also works with operational end users and support teams to analyze requirements and design, develop, and demonstrate UI mockups and wireframes. The successful candidate applies data-quality, analytics, and visualization best practices to support mission objectives and operational decision-making. The candidate must be within driving distance of Scott AFB and able to commute there for full-time onsite support. An interim Secret DoD clearance is required before the start date, and a Secret clearance is required upon starting employment. The employee must obtain Security+ or an equivalent DoD 8570 IAT II certification within 14 days after the start date.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related technical discipline.
At least 8 years of relevant experience.
Demonstrable experience designing and building data visualizations and dashboards using Kibana.
Hands-on experience cleaning, transforming, and analyzing data using tools such as Python (pandas, numpy), SQL, or R.
Strong understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and data pipeline development.
Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions and actionable insights.
Excellent communication skills and ability to present complex data findings to diverse audiences.
Experience with version control systems such as Git and collaborative development environments.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to data quality and reliability.
Strong communication and documentation skills for collaboration and knowledge sharing.
Experience in application integration design and communicating with virtual teams.
Ability to obtain an interim Secret DoD security clearance before the start date; a Secret clearance is required upon starting employment.

Must be able to commute to Scott AFB, Illinois, for full-time onsite support and be within driving distance of the base.

Nice To Haves

Experience with the Elastic Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana) for data analysis and visualization.

Familiarity with AWS GovCloud and cloud infrastructure, including networking and security policies.
Experience with Atlassian tools, including JIRA and Confluence.
Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, including Scrum and SAFe.
Experience working remotely with a geographically dispersed team.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to engage customers, stakeholders, and team members.

Responsibilities

Gather, clean, and validate data from multiple sources to ensure accuracy, consistency, and usability.
Analyze complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights addressing operational and business questions.
Design and develop interactive dashboards, reports, and visualizations using Kibana as the primary tool.
Apply visual design principles, including visual hierarchy, proximity, similarity, font selection, and color theory, and follow layout, content organization, and accessibility guidelines.
Translate analytical results into actionable recommendations and present findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
Engage with stakeholders to understand business needs, operational challenges, and data requirements.
Refine and maintain data transformation pipelines, ensuring data quality, reliability, and alignment with business logic.
Develop and maintain self-service analytics tools and reusable data assets for end users.
Document data models, business logic, transformation processes, and analytics workflows.
Collaborate with data engineers, business analysts, operational end users, support teams, and other stakeholders to deliver integrated data solutions.
Help architect, design, and develop a unified UX/UI and single-pane-of-glass interface on the Kibana platform.
Perform requirements analysis and design, develop, and demonstrate UI mockups and wireframes.
