About The Position

Join Highgate this summer for an exciting opportunity with our Data Services – Information Technology team as a Data Services Intern! Our 2027 Data Services Internship gives you the opportunity to explore how data supports decision-making across the hospitality industry. You’ll work alongside experienced Data Services professionals, gain exposure to real-world data analysis, reporting, and data quality initiatives, and work with data related to booking patterns, customer feedback, operational metrics, and other aspects of the business. You’ll begin developing the technical and analytical skills that help optimize hotel operations, support business decisions, and enhance the guest experience. Our internship begins in June and is based at our Corporate Offices in Irving, TX.

Requirements

• Enrolled in Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
• Minimum Junior status.
• Proficient in SQL and familiar with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI).
• Basic understanding of Excel, Python, or R for data manipulation.
• Knowledge of database management and data warehouse concepts.
• Detail-oriented, analytical mindset, and strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to multi-task in a high-paced environment.
• Demonstrated communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Ability to participate in a summer internship program of 10 weeks (June-August).
• You must reside in Dallas, TX during the internship and work onsite in Irving, TX.

Responsibilities

• Assist with data collection, cleansing, and validation to maintain data quality.
• Work with team members to develop, update, and streamline dashboards and reports.
• Ensure data consistency across various systems (e.g., PMS, CRM, Booking Engines).
• Use data visualization tools (e.g. Power BI) to create clear and actionable insights for teams across the organization.
• Support predictive analytics projects to forecast demand, enhance inventory management, and optimize pricing strategies.
• Collaborate with marketing, operations, finance, and revenue management teams to understand data needs and gather requirements.
• Assist in training hotel staff on data tools and interpreting data insights for operational efficiency.
• Help ensure data handling procedures comply with relevant privacy laws and corporate policies.
• Support the team in monitoring data access, security protocols, and adherence to best practices.
