About The Position

Leidos is hiring a Data Scientist for its Intel Sector Analysis Solutions Business Area in McLean, Virginia. The role supports a fast-paced, growing data science team working on projects critical to national security. The successful candidate will build statistical and machine learning models, conduct natural language processing, develop automated solutions for complex business challenges, and use data to make recommendations. The role also involves complex database searches, web scraping, and processing unstructured data, while learning and leveraging technologies such as AWS and Git.

Requirements

Active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance.
Bachelor’s degree and 8–12 years of relevant technical experience, or a master’s degree and 6–10 years of relevant experience; a doctorate in a technical domain may also be held.
Experience with Python.
Social network analysis (SNA) experience.
Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases and APIs for data extraction.
Experience with supervised and unsupervised learning and natural language processing (NLP).
Familiarity with NLP libraries and tools such as spaCy, Hugging Face, NLTK, or TensorFlow.
Experience with frequentist statistics, probability, and predictive modeling, as well as knowledge of computer science concepts, data architecture, and statistical methods.
Proficiency with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Plotly, Seaborn, or Matplotlib.

Responsibilities

Build statistical and machine learning models, conduct natural language processing (NLP), and develop automated solutions for complex business challenges.
Construct and execute complex database search queries across multiple databases using SQL and API interfaces.
Perform web scraping and apply techniques for processing unstructured data.
Use automation and machine learning to manage data, predict scenarios, and make data-driven recommendations.
Learn and leverage technologies including AWS and Git.
