About The Position

Booz Allen is hiring a Data Scientist to analyze complex structured and unstructured data and develop algorithms, systems, and analytical tools that help clients make informed decisions. The role involves working closely with clients to understand their questions and needs, exploring data-rich environments, and turning disparate data into useful information and objective answers. The posting also describes extensive SharePoint and information-management work, including workflow design, site and permission administration, metadata and navigation structures, records retention, shared-drive governance, security controls, content lifecycle management, and user training. The position is based in Reston, Virginia, and is not listed as remote. A TS/SCI clearance with polygraph and a bachelor's degree are required.

Requirements

At least 2 years of experience with data exploration, data cleaning, data analysis, data visualization, or data mining.
At least 2 years of experience with statistical and general-purpose programming languages for data analysis.
Experience analyzing structured and unstructured data sources.
Experience developing predictive data models, quantitative analyses, and visualizations of targeted data sources.
TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
Bachelor's degree.

Nice To Haves

At least 2 years of experience developing algorithms using R, Python, or SQL and NoSQL.
At least 2 years of experience with distributed data or computing tools, including MapReduce, Hadoop, Hive, EMR, Kafka, Spark, Gurobi, or MySQL.
At least 2 years of experience with machine learning, AI, or NLP.
Experience with visualization packages such as Plotly, Seaborn, or ggplot2.
Master's degree.

Responsibilities

Design and configure SharePoint workflows for document review and approval, records management, and content lifecycle operations.
Manage SharePoint sites, libraries, permissions, access controls, and security compliance.
Create and maintain site templates and coordinate with IT staff on system updates and technical issues.
Design and implement metadata schemas, content types, and navigation structures for information discovery and retrieval.
Establish naming conventions, folder structures, and access controls for shared network drives.
Remove redundant or obsolete content from shared resources and develop governance frameworks for use of shared drives and SharePoint.
Implement version-control procedures across SharePoint and shared drives to preserve document history and support audits.
Configure retention policies and lifecycle-management rules in accordance with records-management standards.
Establish procedures for archiving and preserving important content and removing expired materials.
Ensure SharePoint sites and shared drives comply with classification requirements and information-security policies.
Conduct periodic access reviews and permission audits.
Implement data-loss-prevention measures and monitor for security incidents or policy violations.
Evaluate SharePoint capabilities and features for potential organizational application.
Develop strategies to reduce reliance on legacy shared-drive structures in favor of SharePoint collaboration.
Identify opportunities to improve user experience and information-management effectiveness through platform optimization and feature adoption.
Establish processes to capture and preserve institutional knowledge across operational cycles.
Develop standard operating procedures for knowledge-management processes, train new personnel, promote best practices, and manage transitions when implementing tools or processes.
Explore, clean, analyze, visualize, and mine data; analyze structured and unstructured sources; and develop predictive models, quantitative analyses, and visualizations to address client needs.
