About The Position

Drive and execute a comprehensive analytics strategy for a commercial bank lending portfolio, aligning data science initiatives with business objectives to enable effective portfolio monitoring and support growth initiatives. Drive innovation and develop next generation data science capabilities through Gen AI and advanced analytics tools that deliver on enhanced portfolio surveillance on middle market companies and commercial real estate investors. Serve as a functional manager and subject matter expert on credit analytics processes and data products, ensuring alignment with business objectives. Collaborate with senior stakeholders to assess management needs on portfolio monitoring and insight analysis. Build requirements and shape analytics that drive risk strategy. Oversee end-to-end analytics projects including monthly executive management reporting on credit portfolio health. Translate complex analytical findings into clear, actionable business strategies and recommendations. Mentor and help lead a team of data scientists and analysts in building technical expertise in credit analysis. Drive quality control efforts and ensure analytics products meets quality, control, and consistency standards.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Operations Research, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Data Science, Quantitative Finance or related field of study plus 5 years of experience in the job offered or as Data Scientist Lead, Data Scientist, Quantitative Finance/Risk, Data Engineer, Software Engineer, or related occupation.
  • Three (3) years of experience with building statistical, time-series or multivariate regression credit-risk models.
  • Three (3) years of experience with client behavior classification and scoring.
  • Three (3) years of experience with correlating data patterns to intrinsic or external drivers.
  • Three (3) years of experience with statistical modeling using SAS, R, or Python.
  • Two (2) years of experience with delivering analytical services and advisory consulting.
  • Two (2) years of experience managing data projects end-to-end including working with stakeholders on capturing requirements and supporting product user adoption.
  • Two (2) years of experience presenting technical solutions and results to executive-level audiences with compelling data visuals using PowerPoint, Tableau, or Qlik.
  • Two (2) years of experience building and maintaining data workflow and process automation solutions using SAS or Alteryx on local or server instances.
  • Two (2) years of experience querying large transactional and reference data using SQL on Oracle, Teradata, or AWS Redshift.
  • One (1) year of experience incorporating Generative AI capabilities into credit risk monitoring frameworks by building AI and ML analytical tools with prompt engineering, accuracy assessment techniques, and LLM training for text categorization.
  • One (1) year of experience processing datasets through API calling for text categorization with AI and ML.
  • One (1) year of experience associating client financial metrics with industry-specific economic drivers.
  • Any amount of experience authoring technical specifications to data architecture and technology deployment teams.
  • Any amount of experience authoring whitepapers to document approach and results.
  • Any amount of experience meeting audit and regulatory requirements for analytical or modeling solutions.
  • Any amount of experience implementing production solutions using Agile SDLC.
  • Any amount of experience with Atlassian collaboration tools including Jira or Confluence.
