About The Position
AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Data Scientist Intern – Summer 2027 to join our Phoenix, AZ office. Your role will involve supporting the development and enhancement of data analytics, reporting, and visualization solutions for both internal and client-facing projects. You will assist with data collection, validation, transformation, and integration from various sources, including project controls, scheduling, cost, and operational systems. A key part of the role includes creating and maintaining interactive dashboards and reports using tools like Power BI, Smartsheet, and SharePoint. You will also support the configuration, testing, and deployment of digital solutions for project management and reporting, analyze business processes to identify automation opportunities, and assist with AI-driven initiatives such as data preparation and prompt development. Performing quality assurance and collaborating with technical teams are also essential aspects of this internship.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Data Science, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Business Analytics, or a related field.
- Strong analytical skills, problem solving, communication and organizational skills.
Nice To Haves
- Past internship/involvement related to data analytics, business intelligence, software development or digital technologies preferred.
- Familiarity with Power BI, SQL, Python or other reporting and analytics platforms preferred.
Responsibilities
- Support the development and enhancement of data analytics, reporting and visualization solutions for internal and client-facing projects.
- Assist with data collection, validation, transformation, and integration from multiple data sources, including project controls, scheduling, cost, and operational systems.
- Create and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using tools such as Power BI, Smartsheet, SharePoint, and other business intelligence platforms.
- Support the configuration, testing, and deployment of digital solutions used for project management, project controls, and operational reporting.
- Analyze business processes and user requirements to identify opportunities for reporting automation and workflow improvements.
- Assist with AI-driven initiatives, including data preparation, testing, prompt development, and evaluation of emerging technologies.
- Perform quality assurance and validation activities to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reliability.
- Collaborate with technical managers, developers, data scientists, and project teams to develop and implement client solutions.
