About The Position

HDR is hiring a Data Scientist Intern for Summer 2027. The intern will gain real-world experience working on projects and contribute to data science initiatives under the direct supervision of a Department Manager, Section Manager, or other professionals. Work may include exploratory data analysis, feature engineering, model development and training, and developing data and generative AI solutions such as chatbots and geospatial and geotechnical search facilities. The role uses a range of open-source and commercial software, including Snowflake and Azure AI services. Interns can also connect with recent graduates and company leaders through mentoring and young professionals programs.

Requirements

• Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program.
• Attention to detail.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Basic Microsoft Office skills.
• Commitment to actively participating in HDR's employee-owned culture.

Nice To Haves

• Currently enrolled in Software Engineering, Software Development, Computer Science, Data Science, Data Analytics, or a related degree program.
• Two years completed toward a degree with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Demonstrated knowledge of software packages related to the field of study or industry.
• Local candidates preferred.

Responsibilities
