About The Position

Amplify is seeking a curious and driven AI Scientist Intern to help build intelligent, data-informed experiences for educators, students, and families using its educational products. This paid, remote 10-week internship provides an opportunity to contribute to AI/ML work for products used by millions of students and teachers. Interns must be authorized to work in the United States, reside in the United States for the internship, and be available full-time from June 7 through August 13, 2027. Although the role is remote, interns attend a two-day in-person experience at Amplify headquarters in Brooklyn, New York. The program also includes product demonstrations, team-building and engagement activities, a virtual speaker series, and dedicated mentorship.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program and returning to school in Fall 2027.
• Available full-time from June 7, 2027, through August 13, 2027.
• Authorized to work in the United States and able to reside in the United States for the duration of the internship.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to synthesize information, identify themes, and communicate insights clearly.
• Knowledge of and interest in the K–12 education technology field.

Nice To Haves

• Working knowledge of Natural Language Processing (NLP), large language models (LLMs), or generative AI applications.
• Experience with data analysis, statistical modeling, or AI/ML research projects, academic or professional.
• Interest in AI ethics, responsible AI, adaptive learning systems, or AI-driven personalization.
• Familiarity with Python, R, or SQL.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Exposure to AI research tools, version control systems such as Git, or data visualization platforms.

Responsibilities

• Support the development, testing, and evaluation of AI/ML models used in Amplify educational products.
• Help identify opportunities to apply AI/ML to personalized learning, content recommendations, and student outcomes.
• Assist with data collection, cleaning, feature engineering, and model validation across structured and unstructured datasets.
• Contribute to documentation, technical reports, model performance analyses, and research presentations.
• Track and analyze model outputs to identify patterns, anomalies, and opportunities for optimization.
• Participate in product demonstrations and meetings with Data Science and Product Managers to learn about Amplify's AI-driven products.
