Data Product Manager

Vantage Point Logistics (VPL)Genoa Township, OH

About The Position

At VPL, we modernize pharmacy supply chains to support positive outcomes for patients. As our Product Manager for Data Products, you will be the strategic partner and entrepreneurial force driving both our customer-facing and internal data capabilities. In this role, you will completely own the data product lifecycle—serving as the sole owner of our customer-facing reporting modules while simultaneously architecting the internal-facing dashboards that provide a 360-degree view of our business operations. You are not a passive requirement-gatherer; you are a technical translator and strategic utility player who transforms our Snowflake backend and Power BI user interfaces into a seamless, high-performance data platform. By treating data as a core software asset, you ensure VPL delivers the automated insights that allow health systems to optimize their operations and, ultimately, deliver better care to patients.

Requirements

  • Healthcare Domain Expertise: 3–5 years of professional experience within healthcare technology, health systems, specialty pharmacy, or health analytics platforms, bringing a deep baseline understanding of clinical data compliance and workflow realities.
  • Product Management Foundations: 1–3 years of professional experience managing data products, analytics modules, or data-heavy features in an agile software environment.
  • Technical & Analytical Mastery: Strong technical fluency with cloud data warehouses (Snowflake preferred) and business intelligence tools (Power BI required). Strong SQL skills are required to independently query and validate data features.
  • Requirements Translation: Exceptional ability to document clear, detailed, and technically sound user stories, data schemas, and functional specifications that minimize engineering friction.
  • Collaborative Leadership: A proven track record of partnering successfully with data engineering teams, product peers, and cross-functional business units to ship high-impact technical features.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Business, Mathematics, or equivalent professional technical experience.

Nice To Haves

  • The Strategic Utility Player: You are a product leader with a strong technical backbone—equally comfortable writing SQL queries to independently validate data features as you are presenting a high-level product vision to executive stakeholders.
  • The Complexity Architect: You look at massive, disjointed, and fragmented data sets and instantly see the clean, structured, and automated product experiences that need to be built for both internal and external users.
  • The Bilingual Translator: You speak both "fluent product" and "fluent data". You can talk data warehousing and database schemas with core engineers, then cleanly pivot to explain the strategic or operational impact of that data to non-technical business units.
  • The Proactive Executor: You thrive in a lean, fast-paced environment. You don't wait for a playbook; when you see friction in product delivery or data execution, you actively roll up your sleeves to help the engineering team cross the finish line.
  • Patient-Centric: You maintain an exceptionally high standard of quality because you never lose sight of the fact that behind every row of product data is a clinician and a patient depending on your execution.

Responsibilities

  • Own the Dual-Facing Analytics Portfolio: Serve as the end-to-end product owner for both our external, customer-facing reporting modules and our internal 360-degree customer-health dashboards, defining the unified roadmap and aggressively prioritizing the backlog.
  • Bridge Backend Architecture & UX: Partner directly with data engineering teams to ensure our Snowflake schemas and semantic layers are perfectly optimized to power ultra-fast, elegant, and highly intuitive Power BI dashboard interfaces.
  • Translate Strategy to Execution: Act as the primary interface between business stakeholders, internal operational teams, and the data engineering group—translating ambiguous or complex data problems into precise, technically sound user stories and functional product specifications.
  • Drive Platform Self-Service: Design and implement the intuitive infrastructure, data models, and documentation standards that enable both internal software teams and external health-system customers to seamlessly self-serve their analytical needs.
  • Monitor Product Performance: Actively track product health, audit dashboard utilization metrics across all user groups, and proactively triage data discrepancies or system latencies to ensure exceptional platform reliability and data integrity.
