About The Position

Hinge is seeking a Data Privacy Specialist to join their Data + Privacy Operations team within the Critical Response & Enterprise Risk function. This role will be responsible for the operational handling of sensitive privacy and security requests from users, regulators, and internal stakeholders. These requests include Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs), data deletion requests, privacy law inquiries, and security-related claims. The specialist will apply analytical thinking and operational rigor to ensure compliance with global regulatory requirements and internal standards. Additionally, they will contribute to improving workflows, documentation, and tooling to support scalable privacy operations.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in a user-facing role in privacy operations, trust & safety, risk operations, compliance, or data governance.
  • Familiarity with global privacy regulations including GDPR, LGPD, and CCPA/CPRA.
  • Experience handling sensitive or high-risk user requests with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and investigative skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with technical and legal stakeholders.
  • Excellent written communication and documentation skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience processing DSARs or regulatory privacy requests.
  • Familiarity with data systems or data retrieval workflows.
  • Background in Trust & Safety, customer escalations, or compliance operations.
  • Experience in a global technology or platform environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and resolve user-initiated DSARs, data deletion requests, and other privacy-related inquiries end-to-end, including identity verification, data validation, case documentation, and escalation.
  • Process requests in alignment with global privacy regulations such as GDPR, Brazil LGPD, and CCPA/CPRA, monitoring deadlines and maintaining consistent handling standards.
  • Collaborate with Privacy, Legal, Data Engineering, and Security teams to investigate and resolve complex requests, escalating cases involving potential security breaches or regulatory complaints.
  • Manage incoming DPS tickets, ensure SLA compliance, prioritize high-risk requests, and proactively flag risks or backlogs to leadership.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, improve tooling, and automate processes, while maintaining and updating internal knowledge bases and procedural documentation.
  • Develop deep knowledge of internal data pipelines, privacy policies, and safety systems, and provide operational insights on trends, emerging risks, and process improvements to leadership.
