About The Position

We are a nimble, fast-growing marketing and analytics agency in North County San Diego. We pride ourselves on executing high-impact campaigns and delivering razor-sharp insights to our clients. Our team moves fast, leverages cutting-edge AI tools, and relies on precise tracking to prove the ROI of our work. We are looking for a Data Operations Specialist —the ultimate technical expert of our analytics ecosystem. If you are someone who obsessively tracks day-to-day data, loves setting up complex tech stacks, and gets a thrill from finding out why a pixel isn’t firing before anyone else notices, this role is for you. As our Data Operations Specialist, you will own the day-to-day tracking infrastructure, technical implementation, and reporting dashboards that serve as our agency's source of truth. You aren't just building reports; you are setting up the underlying plumbing, QA’ing the data flow, and anticipating what could break across multiple client platforms. You will sit at the crossroads of our media buying team, account managers, and client technical teams, ensuring that every dollar spent is tracked accurately and every dashboard reflects reality.

Requirements

  • 2–4 years of hands-on data operations, marketing operations, or technical analytics experience, ideally within a digital marketing agency or fast-paced brand-side environment.
  • Advanced proficiency with Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and Google Tag Manager (GTM).
  • Deep understanding of server-side tagging, pixel deployment, and event architecture.
  • Direct experience working with MTA frameworks, lead routing, and mapping custom data fields inside major CRMs.
  • Exceptional debugging skills. You should comfortably use browser developer tools (Inspect, Network tab) to troubleshoot tags, network calls, and payload data.
  • Strong proficiency with Excel/Google Sheets.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to cleanly bridge the gap between media buyers and hard-core client developers.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with SQL, basic JavaScript (for GTM custom templates), or Python for data processing is a significant plus.

Responsibilities

  • Deploy, configure, and maintain tracking ecosystems across client web properties and landing pages, including GA4, Google Tag Manager (GTM), pixels (Meta, LinkedIn, Google, etc.), UTM parameters, and custom event triggers.
  • Ensure seamless data synchronization between paid media channels, landing pages, Multi-Touch Attribution (MTA) tools, and client CRMs (such as HubSpot or Salesforce).
  • Build, automate, and optimize clear, actionable marketing reporting dashboards (e.g., Looker Studio, Tableau) that our account teams and clients can rely on.
  • Rigorously test and audit tracking implementations to identify data discrepancies, broken links, or misaligned event signals before they impact client campaigns.
  • Monitor data ingestion pipelines daily, proactively anticipating where pipelines, cookies, or APIs might fail, and deploy immediate technical fixes.
  • Act as the primary technical point of contact for client developers and internal media buyers, translating complex data engineering concepts into clear requirements.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary and performance-based bonuses.
  • Health, dental, and vision benefits.
  • Paid time off and observed holidays.
