Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Health Informatics, or related field.
  • 12-16 years of professional experience in data modeling, data architecture, or a related domain within healthcare.
  • Deep expertise in FHIR standards, structures, resource definitions, and implementation guides.
  • Hands-on experience with data modeling tools (e.g., ERwin, Sparx Enterprise Architect, Visio).
  • Strong familiarity with healthcare interoperability standards, including HL7, CDA, CCD.
  • Proficiency in relational and NoSQL databases.
  • Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience leading or supporting large-scale FHIR implementation projects.
  • Exposure to other interoperability frameworks and emerging healthcare data exchange protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain logical and physical data models centered on FHIR resources, profiles, and custom extensions.
  • Map legacy healthcare data structures to FHIR-compliant models, facilitating seamless data migration and integration.
  • Collaborate closely with business analysts, developers, and stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into robust data models.
  • Ensure data integrity, consistency, privacy, and security throughout all modeling activities.
  • Define and maintain data dictionaries, metadata repositories, and comprehensive documentation for FHIR-based models.
  • Support FHIR implementation projects and the integration of FHIR with other standards such as HL7v2 and CDA.
  • Conduct thorough data quality assessments and recommend actionable improvements.
  • Stay current with evolving FHIR standards and contribute to the refinement of internal best practices.
