The TA (Zoom co-host) will meet with the instructor at the start of the day to go over any logistics for the course (breakout rooms, polling, timing of breaks, etc). Test screen sharing to make sure instructor is ready for presentation for audience. The waiting room is opened by the TA to allow in registrants and start taking attendance. The TA will start the course with an introduction script. Once the course is started, the TA will need to do the following in assisting the course instructor: Watch for hands up that don’t get answered, be aware of technology blips (a bunch of attendees fall off suddenly), act as a timekeeper for breaks OR specific instructor needs, serve as a communication go-between with students, track people who need help (tech, Q&A, etc.) and make sure they get what they need, deal with Zoom polling if needed by instructor, use Yes/no responses through Zoom, mute people as needed, coordinate with the instructor who will set up break-out rooms, and remind people at the end of class to please complete the online evaluation once it is emailed to them.
