About The Position

The Cell and Gene Therapy Process and Analytical Development teams at Vertex Pharmaceuticals are seeking candidates to implement processes to automate data analysis which will accelerate process understanding and innovation. This opportunity focuses on hands-on experience in data management and data visualization. Responsibilities include creating automated data workflows from various equipment to electronic notebooks (ELNs); maintaining databases; creating visualizations; and helping to establish an inventory management system. This role requires collaboration with multiple teams to contribute to the development and maintenance of data analysis tools and processes. This role is on site. 3 month contract.

Requirements

• Understanding of data management concepts and data visualization techniques
• Familiarity with SQL/Python, and/or JSON/JavaScript languages
• Strong Microsoft VBA skills, experience with Power BI
• Familiarity with network mapping and data security
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
• Eagerness to learn new technologies and skills
• Enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program with a focus in Computer Science, Data Science, a related field, or recent graduate.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain workflows for more automated data retrieval, processing, analysis, and reporting from equipment and other sources.
• Build data visualizations for real-time analysis.
• Document and help to train team members on data workflows, including scripts, queries, and processes for future use.
• Establish inventory system for tracking test samples, media preparations, and product.
• Work with team members to troubleshoot issues related to data management.
• Work with scientists to leverage AI/ML models to detect trends or patterns in the data.
