About The Position

The US DOE Alumni Network is seeking a part-time/fractional consultant to lead their data management, metrics, reporting, and CRM databases. This role reports to the Executive Director and is responsible for spearheading the Network’s data management, metric, and CRM tools. The ideal candidate will have expertise in database development and management, and familiarity with the DOE community. This remote position requires close collaboration with the Executive Director, senior staff, working group leads, and the Advisory Board to support data intake, analysis, and reporting needs. The consultant should be a flexible team player, adept at translating data into organizational impact. Occasional travel to organizational meetings may be required.

Requirements

  • Must have worked at the Department of Energy (either fellow, contractor, or federal employee) for at least one year.
  • At least 2 years of experience building and managing databases.
  • Experience developing and reporting on organizational performance metrics.
  • Enjoys working on teams and collaborating on the development of new systems and tools to meet organizational and individual needs.
  • Innovative thinker able to develop solutions to the evolving needs of a growing organization.
  • Flexible and willing to address new requests and tasks, as they arise.

Nice To Haves

  • Additional experience in the DOE community is preferred.
  • Preferred experience with CRM development and management.
  • Non-profit experience is preferred.
  • Ideal candidate will already be engaged with the DOE Alumni Network, demonstrating commitment to its efforts and familiarity with its work.

Responsibilities

  • Lead CRM development, management, and training, including continual system development and improvement, and oversight of employee and volunteer access.
  • Lead the development and oversight of systems, processes, and tools for gathering data on the alumni community, their engagement in the Network, and their participation in Network activities and events.
  • Manage the Network alumni intake survey, develop survey tools for working groups, and integrate attendance data from events.
  • Lead organizational metrics management and reporting, including refining metrics, overseeing data collection, and leading quarterly and ad-hoc reporting.
  • Serve on the DOE Alumni Network Leadership team, providing analysis and data insights to inform the Network's direction.
  • Engage in regular leadership meetings and collaborate with leadership to ensure data and data tools meet evolving organizational needs.
  • Help develop and maintain a shared file system.
  • Develop a task management system in Airtable.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
