About The Position

The Data Management and Evaluation Specialist will play a key role in advancing the Center for Rural Education and Development’s capacity to collect, analyze, and utilize data to drive continuous improvement and demonstrate measurable impact. This position will contribute to the data management and evaluation of multiple state and federal grants and contracts administered by the Center, as well as support efforts to assess the Center’s overall effectiveness and long-term outcomes. The role involves designing and maintaining robust data systems, aligning evaluation practices with national frameworks, and delivering actionable insights to inform strategic planning and resource allocation. This is a temporary employment opportunity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in data science, education, psychology, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with program evaluation methodologies and tools; experience in education or disability services preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in data collection, analysis, and reporting in an educational or program evaluation context.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, SPSS, or other statistical and data visualization tools.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Commitment to ethical data management and continuous quality improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement systems for collecting academic, employment, and engagement data across Center projects and initiatives.
  • Analyze quantitative and qualitative data to identify trends, outcomes, and areas for improvement in programs and services.
  • Ensure all data collection and reporting align with national evaluation frameworks, funding agency requirements, and the Center’s strategic priorities.
  • Maintain compliance with federal and institutional standards for data privacy and ethics, including the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and Institutional Review Board (IRB) guidelines.
  • Prepare regular and ad hoc reports to inform Center leadership, stakeholders, and external partners on grant, contract, and overall Center performance.
  • Collaborate with Center staff to integrate data findings into continuous improvement processes, grant reporting, and long-term strategic planning.
