About The Position

Under supervision, performs administrative work of moderate difficulty. This role involves overseeing RMS and JMS systems and databases, assisting with special projects, preparing reports, handling confidential documents, acting as a liaison with other departments and agencies, and providing technical support to users. The position also requires participation in an on-call rotation and potentially working outside normal business hours and on weekends.

Requirements

  • Four years of progressively responsible administrative or clerical experience
  • Associate’s degree and three years of progressively responsible administrative or clerical experience
  • Bachelor's degree and two years of progressively responsible administrative or clerical experience
  • Any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position
  • Considerable knowledge of: Law enforcement terminology, procedures and forms
  • Considerable knowledge of: Records management
  • Considerable knowledge of: Business English, spelling, arithmetic
  • Considerable knowledge of: Modern office practices, procedures and equipment
  • Considerable knowledge of: Rules and procedures of assigned department, including state and federal law
  • Working knowledge of: Principles and practices of administration
  • Skill in: Use of computer applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and/or database
  • Skill in: Use of modern office equipment
  • Ability to: Be a part of an on-call rotation
  • Ability to: Work outside of normal business hours and on weekends

Responsibilities

  • Training, and creating training documentation
  • Oversees our RMS and JMS systems and databases
  • Assists with special projects as assigned
  • Prepares and maintains statistical and administrative reports
  • Creates, processes, and distributes confidential and sensitive documents and correspondence
  • Communicates and acts as liaison with other departments, and agencies
  • Attends meetings to represent the department
  • Compose and types correspondences, reports and other documents
  • Technical support- password resets and other smaller technical support to users
  • Ability to be on a On Call rotation
  • Performs related duties as assigned
  • Lift up to 50 pounds
  • Multitask answering phone calls while performing job duties
