Data/Integration Engineer
About The Position
Joint Strategic Technologies (JST) is seeking a Data/Integration Engineer to support its team in a full-time remote position. The initial period of performance is three months, with potential for extension. The role builds and maintains data connections that bring transitioning members into the system from personnel roster files and keep that data clean. The engineer will work with the customer's personnel office to define roster file formats, then develop parsing, field mapping, validation, matching, duplicate handling, and exception reporting. In a second phase, the same approach will be extended to four additional roster sources, each with a different owner and potentially a different format. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field.
- 7+ years of relevant experience.
- Experience with ETL and file-based data integration, data mapping and cleansing, and Salesforce data loading.
- Experience with Department of Defense personnel data such as MilPDS, DEERS, or DMDC.
- Experience with Salesforce external objects.
- Must be able to pass a US Government background check.

- Salesforce Certified Data Architect.
Responsibilities
- Build the connection that brings transitioning members into the system from a personnel roster file and keeps that data clean.
- Work with the customer's personnel office to define the roster file format.
- Build parsing, field mapping, and validation for the incoming file.
- Build matching and duplicate handling using the DoD ID number as the key.
- Build exception handling and a view that shows data quality problems.
- In the second phase, extend the same pattern to four more roster sources, each with a different owner and likely a different format.
