About The Position

As a Data Governance Consultant, your main responsibilities will be to contribute to the design and deployment of data management and governance components, to support the data stewardship network, and to assist portfolio initiatives in implementing and maintaining sound data practices within the organization. You will work in partnership with IT, compliance, security, legal affairs, and business functions. Reporting to the Senior Director - Data Governance, you will collaborate with all sectors of the company and key data stakeholders to raise awareness and leverage data responsibly, making it a strategic asset that supports the new organization's ambitions.

Requirements

  • University degree and a minimum of seven (7) years of experience in a data-related field such as IT, business intelligence, administration, law, actuarial science, statistics, or equivalent.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of relevant experience in functions related to governance, data leveraging, data protection, data management components, compliance, or framework operationalization.
  • Experience in defining and evolving business processes or in deploying training or awareness programs.
  • Knowledge of interdependencies between data strategy, data governance, and data management components, and the ability to explain them.
  • Mastery of the French language, both spoken and written.
  • Intermediate to advanced mastery of the English language, both spoken and written, due to the nature of tasks, work tools, or interactions with English-speaking colleagues, partners, clients, or suppliers, or to meet the company's growth objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and govern the main axes of the company's data strategy and the data governance implementation plan, including prioritizing critical data and developing key data domains.
  • Deploy the data governance framework across the enterprise, including supporting the federated stewardship network, with an emphasis on data protection, quality, and product culture.
  • Contribute to defining roles, responsibilities, and the operating model for data governance and management within federated stewardship bodies for strategic assets.
  • Participate in the design and deployment of data management and governance components and tools (business glossary, catalog, inventory, MDM, etc.) in support of the stewardship network.
  • Recommend solutions to resolve incidents related to data definition, usage, quality, or protection.
  • Contribute to, participate in, and support sector projects and initiatives to ensure the application of data governance principles and frameworks.
  • Carry out and support responsible data leveraging activities, in close collaboration with artificial intelligence and advanced analytics teams.
  • Lead and participate in various data governance and leveraging forums.
  • Support, advise, and train the data stewardship network to operationalize priority frameworks, ensure regulatory compliance, and enhance the organization's data management maturity ('Data by Design').
  • Promote and deploy awareness and outreach initiatives that foster responsible behaviors and a Data Driven culture, in collaboration with the Data Center of Excellence.
