About The Position

In the Analyst, Data Governance role you will be a member of an experienced, collaborative, and dynamic team. Identifying data quality improvement opportunities and partnering with the business to enhance data quality and accuracy. The ability to make connections among people and across data sets is crucial to the success of this position. The ideal candidate enjoys analyzing raw data for patterns and problem solving. LFD’s Data Governance program is beginning to grow, and your contributions will directly increase data literacy, data quality, and end user experience. You will assist in defining the foundation for our new data platform that is currently being built and is a major strategic initiative over the next few years.

Requirements

  • 4 Year/Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • 3-5 years of experience as a creator/user of reporting, data profiling, and/or quality check techniques
  • 2+ Years’ experience with SQL, Oracle, Toad Data Point, Dataiku or other SQL equivalent
  • Ability to influence outcomes without directing or commanding
  • Ability to analyze information and evaluate the implications of a course of action or solution

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using data analysis techniques to develop operational reporting, quality data, and/or operational metrics .

Responsibilities

  • Participates in and facilitates meetings for the Data Governance Council.
  • Creates and utilizes data governance scorecards to support Data Governance Council discussions and decision making.
  • Documents and records information, decisions, and recommendations made by the Data Governance Council.
  • Supports the development of the Data Governance vision and framework while remaining aligned with overall business objectives.
  • Develops, documents, and maintains definition, production, usage, classification, and compliance rules across multiple business units to support the enterprise management of data.
  • Communicates all data rules to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborates with data owners and data custodians to identify and resolve more complex data governance issues in a timely and collaborative manner.
  • Supports the development of processes and procedures for Data Governance and Stewardship.
  • Supports the analysis and documentation of data capture standards associated with new products.
  • Serves as a resource to internal stakeholders on more complex Data Governance solutions which optimize client requirements and achieve desired business results.
  • Escalates highly complex issues to management/Data Governance Council when necessary.
