About The Position

The Data Entry Technician provides excellent customer service and ensures accurate, timely billing of compounded preparations based on patient-specific prescriptions. The technician works under the supervision of a pharmacist and may be directed by the departmental manager to work in any department based on company needs. The role may also be cross-trained to assist with large account orders. Other duties, responsibilities, and qualifications may be assigned as necessary.

Requirements

• High school diploma preferred.
• Must be a state-licensed pharmacy technician to perform fulfillment or compounding activities.
• Excellent work ethic, including personal drive to excel independently.
• Solid PC skills, including Microsoft software.

Nice To Haves

• Certified Pharmacy Technician.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the accuracy of patient information and receive patient payments.
• Check prescriptions for completeness and enter information into the computer to generate prescription labels and invoices when necessary.
• Communicate with prescribers to obtain refill authorization.
• Receive patient refill requests by telephone, direct calls, and take and relay messages.
• Work under the supervision of a pharmacist.
• Maintain an organized and efficient workspace.
• Investigate incidents or variances as needed and document variances, including their resolution.
• Cross-train to help with large account orders.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
