About The Position

Our Tampa pharmacy is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician. The position focuses on prescription data entry, insurance adjudication, and claims resolution, while also supporting day-to-day fulfillment operations in the dispensing area. Long-Term Care (LTC) pharmacy experience is a strong plus.

Requirements

• Active Florida Pharmacy Technician Registration (RPhT) is required.
• Proven experience in pharmacy billing, claim adjudication, and prescription data entry.
• Strong knowledge of pharmacy insurance, Medicare/Medicaid billing protocols, and medical terminology.
• Excellent attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• PTCB or ExCPT certification preferred.
• Experience in a Long-Term Care (LTC) pharmacy setting is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Process, submit, and troubleshoot insurance claims; resolve prior authorizations, third-party rejections, and coverage issues efficiently.
• Accurately enter prescription details, patient profiles, and physician orders into the pharmacy management system.
• Assist with routine dispensing duties, including selecting, counting, packaging, and labeling medications accurately under direct pharmacist supervision.
• Help maintain medication stock, monitor expiration dates, and ensure clean, organized workflow areas in accordance with state and federal regulations.
• Communicate with healthcare providers, insurance representatives, and patients or caregivers to clarify prescription details or billing questions.
