About The Position

The City Assessor's office is seeking applications for a temporary Data Entry Clerk position. Under general supervision, this position provides data entry assistance for appraisal staff in the City Assessor’s office. The Data Entry Clerks will assist in entering building perimeter sketches and property data into a Microsoft based computer valuation program. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience in fields related to appraisal, building, or general data entry. This temporary position is expected to last approximately from June/July 2026 to April 2027. This is a 40 hours per week position with work hours in City Hall from 8am-5pm, Monday-Friday. This position is not benefit or paid leave eligible. In order to be considered for this position, all applicants must submit their online application by the deadline listed on this posting. Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or HiSet
  • 6 months of experience in data entry
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs or equivalent software programs
  • Skill in data entry
  • Skill in reading analyzing and interpreting general business periodicals or correspondence
  • Ability to complete office tasks with a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality
  • Ability to work in coordination with team members and the public
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from supervisor, clients, customers, and the general public
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability, statistical inference, and fundamentals of geometry

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and data entry support for the department
  • Complete a variety of office clerical tasks including typing and filing
  • Maintains effective and efficient office filing systems, both for hard copy and electronic files, according to all statutory laws, policies, and office procedures
  • Enters and updates information into various computer programs and applications including but not limited to Outlook, Excel, Word and department specific programs
  • Interprets data and document types and scans into electronic document systems under appropriate categories
  • Informs relevant parties regarding errors encountered
  • Prepare outgoing mail including addressing, folding, stuffing and sorting envelopes and packages for mass mailings
  • Other duties as assigned
