About The Position

The Production Planning Data Entry Clerk supports the Planning Department by maintaining accurate production and inventory data within SYSPRO. Primary responsibilities include creating and maintaining stock codes, creating production work orders, supporting the production schedule, verifying planning data, and assisting the Planning team with the information necessary to execute the production plan.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of experience in data entry, production support, manufacturing, inventory, planning, or a related administrative environment preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Effective verbal, written, listening, and organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  • Computer literacy – Proficient in MS Office Suite
  • Stress and time management skills.
  • Problem-solving, decision-making, and critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain stock codes in Syspro, ensuring item information, descriptions, planning parameters and other required fields are entered accurately.
  • Create, update, and maintain work order/job information as directed by the Planning Manager or Production Planners.
  • Update planned dates, quantities, priorities, and scheduling information to reflect approved production changes.
  • Maintain production schedules and routine planning reports, ensuring information is current and accurate.
  • Assist planners with material availability, shortages, open requirements, and status reporting.
  • Enter planning notes and status updates needed to communicate production priorities.
  • Support schedule changes, job maintenance, and planning data cleanup as directed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Verify data before entry and investigate discrepancies with Planning, Purchasing, Inventory, Engineering, or Production.
  • Monitor planning data and reports for missing, incomplete, or inconsistent information and communicate issues promptly.
  • Maintain organized planning records and support data cleanup and document control activities.
  • Develop working knowledge of production planning, inventory, work orders, bills of material, and material requirements.
  • Perform high-volume data entry with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Utilize SYSPRO, Microsoft Excel, and other computerized systems to accomplish assigned tasks.
  • Understand basic ERP data relationships and how planning transactions affect production and inventory.
  • Follow oral and written instructions and clearly communicate changes, discrepancies, or missing information.
  • Work cooperatively with Planning, Purchasing, Production, Inventory, Engineering, and other departments as required.
  • Demonstrate teamwork and commitment to ongoing training and continuous improvement.
  • Use effective written, verbal, organizational, and numeracy skills in support of production planning.
  • Work independently on assigned tasks while contributing effectively as part of a team.
  • Maintain strong attention to detail and protect the accuracy and integrity of planning data.
