About The Position

Long-Term Staff Management Group is seeking a Data Entry Clerk for our client in Monroe Township, NJ. This role involves import operations and documentation, requiring a bilingual candidate proficient in Excel and Outlook. A high school education or higher from a Latin American country is preferred to ensure strong Spanish grammar and written communication skills. The position is long-term with a schedule of 1st Shift: 9 AM - 6 PM, Monday - Friday, with a pay rate of $23/hour.

Requirements

  • MUST be bilingual - English AND Spanish
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in logistics, freight, or import-related roles
  • General understanding of Import Trade Compliance regulations
  • Hands-on experience with HTS (Harmonized Tariff Schedule) classifications
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to multitask and work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills
  • High-volume data entry accuracy
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills
  • Reliability and punctual attendance
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook)
  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to escalate issues appropriately

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate import documents and customs releases
  • Process import and domestic shipment documents against purchase orders and inventory guidelines
  • Ensure timely transmission of documents to customs brokers and freight forwarders
  • Assist with customs tariffs (HTS) classifications as needed
  • Communicate with customs brokers/forwarders regarding shipments in transit and status updates
  • Coordinate with Purchasing, Sales, Accounting, and local/remote warehouses on inbound shipments
  • Support Accounting with invoice and accounts payable requirements
  • Transfer data from emails and faxes into the order database system
  • Handle high-volume data entry while maintaining accuracy
  • Research and resolve order discrepancies and customer requests
  • Notify supervisors of any order-related issues
  • Maintain a strong focus on accuracy, organization, and customer satisfaction
