About The Position

At Bank of America, the Data Engineering Feature Lead provides leadership, technical direction, and oversight to a data engineering team made up of software and quality engineers and business analysts. The team develops and manages services for the Claims Data Emerging Technology team. The role leads feature delivery as an individual contributor and team lead. It oversees solution design, implementation, and maintenance; aligns technical solutions with business objectives and product acceptance criteria; and ensures enterprise standards for coding and quality are followed. The Feature Lead guides work breakdown and execution, mentors team members in planning, estimation, peer reviews, and other engineering practices, and collaborates with stakeholders to design scalable, fault-tolerant, performant, and secure solutions. The role also leads low-level technical design, conducts code reviews, and ensures deployment readiness, production preparation, performance optimization, and database tasks are addressed for smooth delivery. Requirements

10+ years of experience in Big Data, including the Hadoop ecosystem and Python.
Solid experience with Enterprise Data Management, Data Architecture, and Data Governance in ADS-like systems.
2+ years of experience with MongoDB or PostgreSQL.
Experience with Apache Kafka messaging frameworks.
Experience with source control tools such as BitBucket or Git.
Experience with Test Driven Development (TDD), Continuous Integration (CI), and JUnit.
Experience with Agile/Iterative development and full SDLC development.
Good communication skills and the ability to engage and influence teams across technology and business.

Nice To Haves

Good understanding of leveraging GenAI capabilities for code generation and process simplification or streamlining.
Exposure to cloud technologies and platforms.
Experience in Oracle SQL ETL application development.
Knowledge of Java.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and take accountability for feature delivery.
Apply enterprise standards for solution design, coding, and quality.
Ensure solutions meet product acceptance criteria with minimal technical debt.
Guide the team in work breakdown and execution.
Work with the Product Owner to maintain a healthy product backlog and clear acceptance criteria.
Lead as an individual contributor and mentor the team.
Guide team members in planning, estimation, peer reviews, and other engineering practices.
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and design scalable, fault-tolerant, performant, and secure solutions.
Lead low-level technical design and ensure overall code quality through code reviews.
Ensure deployment readiness, production preparation, performance optimization, and database tasks for smooth delivery.
