About The Position

The Data Engineer, Specialist designs and develops data engineering and analytics solutions supporting Financial Crimes and regulatory compliance. The role builds and optimizes ETL processes, data pipelines, database solutions, and cloud-based infrastructure to support reliable, scalable data processing and analysis. It integrates complex datasets from multiple sources and addresses data and software issues to maintain data consistency, quality, availability, and integrity. The position translates business and regulatory requirements into technical designs and maintainable code, queries, and data solutions. It builds AWS cloud services and Spark data-processing applications, creates dashboards and reports using Power BI or similar tools, and automates analysis and reporting workflows with Python, SQL, and other programming tools. The role works with business, compliance, analytics, technology, and leadership partners, tests data solutions, supports production implementation, and serves as a subject matter expert who mentors less-experienced data professionals and contributes to engineering standards and reusable practices. This is a hybrid role based at Vanguard headquarters in Malvern, Pennsylvania, with in-office work Tuesday through Thursday. Vanguard is not offering visa sponsorship for this position.
