About The Position

Genesis10 is seeking a Data Engineer for a Hybrid role with a Global Financial Institution. This is a 12-month contract opportunity focused on a digital transformation initiative to modernize technology and support a data-driven approach. The role involves designing and developing a strategic data platform on the Azure Cloud Platform, initially focusing on reference data systems for securities and pricing.

Requirements

• 10 years of relevant experience.
• Full stack Python/PySpark developer.
• Proven experience as a Data Engineer with experience in Azure cloud.
• Experience implementing solutions using Azure cloud services such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Lake Gen 2, Azure Databases, Azure Data Fabric, API Gateway management, and Azure Functions.
• Well versed with Azure Databricks.
• Strong SQL skills with RDBMS or NoSQL databases.
• Experience with developing APIs using FastAPI or similar frameworks in Python.
• Familiarity with the DevOps lifecycle (git, Jenkins, etc) and CI/CD processes.
• Good understanding of ETL/ELT processes.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in the financial services industry, financial instruments, asset classes, and market data.

Responsibilities

• Actively develop the data platform in close coordination with the internal team.
• Contribute to the overall agenda of the Data Strategy team by following internal development standards.
• Implement the strategic platform on the Azure Cloud Platform.
• Support the establishment of a reference data system for securities and pricing data, and later expand to other data domains.
