About The Position

Unit8 is expanding into the US market and is seeking a Data Engineer who will work directly with customers, owning delivery strategy and implementation. As a core member of their agile project teams, the Data Engineer will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining robust data solutions and infrastructure. They will work on cutting-edge data and AI topics to solve real-world business problems for clients.

Requirements

Proficient software engineer with fundamentals of computer science.
Mastery of the Python programming language.
Experience writing distributed services and working with high-volume heterogeneous data, preferably with distributed systems such as Spark.
Knowledgeable about data governance, data access, and data storage techniques.
Strong client-facing skills: comfortable interacting with clients (business & technical audience), delivering presentations, problem-solving mindset.
Understanding the value of teamwork.
Willingness to travel to meet with clients and the team (mainly in Europe - up to 15% of your time).

Nice To Haves

Experience with Palantir Foundry or willingness to get upskilled.

Responsibilities

Design, build, maintain, and troubleshoot data pipelines and processing systems that are relied on for both production and analytics applications, using a variety of open-source and closed-source technologies.
Help drive optimization, testing, and tooling to improve data quality.
Collaborate with other software engineers, ML experts, and stakeholders, taking learning and leadership opportunities.
Work in multi-functional agile teams to continuously experiment, iterate, and deliver on new product objectives.
Interact with clients to understand their data-related challenges and related tech and business questions they need to answer.
