About The Position

We need an experienced data professional like you to help our clients find answers in their data to impact important missions—from fraud detection to cancer research to national intelligence. As a Data Engineer at Booz Allen, you’ll use your expertise to help build advanced technology solutions and lead data engineering activities on some of the most mission-driven projects in the industry. You’ll guide data engineering activities by overseeing the development and deployment of pipelines and platforms that organize and make disparate data meaningful. Here, you’ll mentor a multi-disciplinary team of analysts, data engineers, developers, and data consumers in a fast-paced, agile environment. You’ll use your expertise in analytical exploration and data examination while you oversee the assessment, design, building, and maintenance of scalable platforms for your clients. Requirements

7+ years of experience with software engineering in Python and SQL
5+ years of experience creating software for retrieving, parsing, and processing structured and unstructured data
5+ years of experience developing scalable ETL or ELT workflows for reporting and analytics
Experience designing, developing, operationalizing, and maintaining complex data science applications at enterprise scale
Experience developing scripts and programs for converting various types of data into usable formats and supporting project team to scale, monitor, and operate data platforms
Experience supervising others and leading projects and deliverables within a collaborative, cross-functional team environment
Secret clearance
Bachelor’s degree

Nice To Haves

10+ years of experience using Python, SQL, Scala, R, Haskell, Rust, C++, C, C#, Julia, Go, or Java
5+ years of experience with a public cloud, including AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud
5+ years of experience with Distributed data or computing tools, including Spark, Databricks, Hadoop, Hive, HBase, Accumulo, AWS EMR, Nifi, Luigi, Dask, or Kafka
5+ years of experience working on real-time data and streaming applications
5+ years of experience with NoSQL databases such as Elasticsearch, Solr, MongoDB, or Cassandra
5+ years of experience with data warehousing and databases such as AWS Redshift, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, or Snowflake
5+ years of experience with UNIX or Linux, including basic commands and Shell scripting
