About The Position

Genesis10 is seeking a Data Engineer for a Hybrid position with a Major Financial Institution. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity requiring 3 days onsite. The role is part of a strategic Data Strategy team supporting a large-scale digital transformation. The successful candidate will be involved in the active development of a strategic data platform on the Azure Cloud Platform, starting with a reference data system for securities and pricing data and expanding to other data domains.

Requirements

• 10+ years of relevant experience
• Full stack Python/PySpark developer
• Proven experience as a Data Engineer with experience in Azure cloud
• Experience implementing solutions using Azure cloud services: Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake Gen 2, Azure Databases, Azure Data Fabric, API Gateway management, and Azure Functions
• Well versed with Azure Databricks
• Strong SQL skills with RDBMS or NoSQL databases
• Experience with developing APIs using FastAPI or similar frameworks in Python
• Familiarity with the DevOps lifecycle (git, Jenkins, etc.) and CI/CD processes
• Good understanding of ETL/ELT processes

Nice To Haves

• Experience in financial services industry, financial instruments, asset classes and market data are a plus

Responsibilities

• Support the design and development of a strategic data platform
• Actively develop the data platform in close coordination with the internal team
• Establish a reference data system for securities and pricing data, and later move to other data domains
• Follow internal development standards to contribute to the overall agenda of the Data Strategy team
