About The Position

The Data Engineer will support Data Engineering and Data Governance work in SHARP. This role requires a deep understanding of business objectives and problems, the ability to identify alternative solutions, and perform cost/benefit analyses. The engineer will analyze user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate processing or improve existing computer systems. This involves conferring with personnel to analyze operational procedures, identify problems, and understand data input/output requirements. The role also includes writing detailed descriptions of user needs and program functions, and reviewing system capabilities to determine the feasibility of requested programs or changes.

Requirements

  • 8 or more years of experience.
  • Experience using Informatica tools including Powercenter, IICS, IDMC, MDM, Axon, EDC, IDQ, Customer360, Supplier360, Entity360.
  • Experience establishing Master Data and Reference data for large organizations.
  • Experience implementing data quality rules using Informatica DQ.
  • 4 years of experience working with enterprise scale data sets in Snowflake.
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a similar field. Equivalent work experience can be substituted.
  • 2 years of experience in healthcare or Public Health.
  • 2 years of experience with Python scripts for automation and interaction with APIs.
  • Must live within 50 miles of Austin, TX.
  • Must already live in Austin, TX (not relocate).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Informatica MDM is preferred.
  • Masters degree or 6+ years experience preferred.
  • Experience at a state agency preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and accomplish goals, independently performing a variety of complicated tasks.
  • Understand business objectives and problems, identify alternative solutions, and perform studies and cost/benefit analysis of alternatives.
  • Analyze user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate processing or to improve existing computer systems.
  • Confer with personnel of organizational units involved to analyze current operational procedures, identify problems, and learn specific input and output requirements.
  • Write detailed descriptions of user needs, program functions, and steps required to develop or modify computer programs.
  • Review computer system capabilities, specifications, and scheduling limitations to determine if requested program or program change is possible within existing system.
  • Support Data Engineering and Data Governance work in SHARP.
  • Establish Master Data and Reference data for large organizations.
  • Implement data quality rules using Informatica DQ.
  • Work with enterprise-scale data sets in Snowflake.
  • Use Python scripts for automation and interaction with APIs.
