About The Position

We are hiring a Data Engineer II to help build the next generation of our financial data and analytics platform. In this role, you will own end-to-end data solutions, from pipeline design and orchestration to data quality frameworks, GenAI-enabled automation, and self-service analytics with limited guidance. You will solve complex problems around revenue attribution, financial data modeling, and system performance while partnering with Financial Analysts, BI teams, Accounting, and Ads leadership to translate requirements into well-architected deliverables. You will recommend architecture improvements, present solutions to stakeholders, and coordinate across teams, writing clear documentation, negotiating priorities, and maintaining appropriate data governance to ensure the data reaching leadership is accurate, timely, and scalable. Beyond technical delivery, you will mentor team members on data infrastructure, pipeline architecture, and Ads-specific data models. You will identify and drive process improvements including metrics enhancements, optimization and automation of manual workflows, and contributions to data engineering standards and best practices. You will participate in scoping and prioritizing data engineering needs during critical financial planning process. Innovation is key on this team as we are building AI agents, event-driven orchestration platforms, and self-service analytics tools that are changing how Finance teams interact with data. About the team The Ads Central FP&A Data and Analytics team owns the data infrastructure that powers financial reporting for Amazon's Advertising business across all products and geographies. We build scalable data and technology solutions that provide leadership with clear visibility into the financial metrics that drive business decisions.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of data engineering experience
  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
  • Experience with SQL
  • Experience in at least one modern scripting or programming language, such as Python, Java, Scala, or NodeJS
  • Experience with big data technologies such as: Hadoop, Hive, Spark, EMR
  • Knowledge of professional software engineering & best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, software architectures, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing, and operational excellence
  • Bachelor's degree

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with non-relational databases / data stores (object storage, document or key-value stores, graph databases, column-family databases)
  • Experience with AWS technologies like Redshift, S3, AWS Glue, EMR, Kinesis, FireHose, Lambda, and IAM roles and permissions
  • Experience working with Data & AI related technologies, including, but not limited to, AI/ML, GenAI, Analytics, Database, and/or Storage
  • Master's degree in computer science, engineering, analytics, mathematics, statistics, IT or equivalent
