About The Position

Bosch Service Solutions is seeking a Data Engineer Consultant to join their team in Timișoara. This role involves supporting and empowering development teams, ensuring data quality, and building robust data pipelines. The consultant will act as a technical guide, leveraging expertise in Databricks and SQL, and promoting data engineering best practices. The position focuses on mastering the modern data engineering stack, implementing DevOps and data automation, and fostering a data-driven culture through collaboration and continuous improvement.

Requirements

At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in data engineering, data platforms, or a comparable technical role.
Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or similar field.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Git/VCS.
Strong knowledge of Databricks and data modeling/engineering.
Experience with lakehouse/data platform architecture, Python, Spark, and SQL.
Proficiency in data pipelining, orchestration, and cluster management.
Excellent English communication skills required.

Nice To Haves

Databricks Asset Bundles is a plus.
dbt experience is a bonus.
German language skills are a significant advantage.

Responsibilities

Directly supports and empowers Domain & decentralized development teams, acting as a technical guide and gathering feedback to continuously improve platform utility.
Leverages strong expertise in Databricks and SQL to guarantee data quality and provide reliable data for analysis and business processes.
Acts as a primary consultant, guiding teams on data engineering best practices and effective platform use, fostering a data-driven culture.
Builds and orchestrates robust data pipelines, ensuring data reliability, accessibility, and readiness for analytics and ML.
Leverages CI/CD expertise to create efficient, automated, and scalable data workflows for development teams.
Monitors and guarantees data quality, making it transparent across the organization.
Works closely with stakeholders and other IT teams, actively contributing to our data community.
Proactively evaluates and improves existing solutions by introducing innovative ideas, modern technologies, and best practices to increase platform efficiency, scalability, and value.
