About The Position

This is a temporary position until March 31, 2028. Recognized for your expertise in data management, your ability to simplify complex information, and your adaptability in change management, join the Data and Financial Analysis Actuarial Department as a Data Consultant. In this role, you will help establish data stewardship and data valorization expertise for the Executive Vice-Presidency (EVP) of Individual Insurance and Financial Services (IIFS). You will ensure the proper conduct of data-related activities and alignment with the organization's strategic directions. Your expertise and leadership will enable you to support the various IIFS EVP teams in achieving their data valorization objectives and to support the Chief Data Steward of IIFS. As the initiator of established priorities, you will work collaboratively with the organization's data experts. Furthermore, you will act as a liaison between the IIFS EVP teams and corporate data governance. Through your achievements, you will contribute to strengthening the organization's data-driven orientation, all in a hybrid work environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, management information systems, business intelligence, administration, statistics, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in the data field.
  • Advanced proficiency in written French and intermediate proficiency in written English.
  • Advanced proficiency in the French language as well as intermediate proficiency in written English, due to the nature of the tasks or interactions with English-speaking colleagues, partners, clients, or suppliers, or to meet the company's growth objectives.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with a recognized DMBOK framework (asset).
  • Experience in defining or evolving business processes (asset).

Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for a set of data and apply data governance principles to support the chief steward.
  • Collaborate on the creation, implementation, and ongoing support of data management policies, standards, processes, and tools.
  • Organize and prepare periodic meetings with data experts and ensure that efforts and deliverables comply with established data management policies, standards, and processes.
  • Serve as the operational link for data stewardship within the IIFS EVP with the existing data governance team in the organization.
  • Promote and raise awareness about responsible data-related behaviors.
  • Participate in the data governance implementation plan within the EVP.
  • Ensure the application of business rules and data quality related to information (personal information, sensitive data, security, lifecycle, classification, retention period, transformed data...).
  • Control data management throughout its lifecycle, ensuring compliance with governance, security, and conformity frameworks.
  • Determine a roadmap for data valorization support activities for its sector: inventory, situational analysis, ongoing work.
  • Identify data issues, recommend, and initiate solutions in collaboration with the relevant teams.
  • Develop access and usage rules for the information for which they are responsible and participate in the implementation of the access granting process.
  • Participate in data governance initiatives and ensure that processes are applied within the IIFS EVP.
