Data Enablement Product Manager

YouGov•Portland, OR
•$110,000 - $124,000

About The Position

The Data Enablement Product Manager owns the planning and prioritization layer between the Data Enablement engineers and the internal stakeholders who depend on their work. The role gathers stakeholder needs, translates them into a coherent prioritized plan, and aligns engineering capacity with that plan in agreement with the Data Enablement Director and engineering managers. It carries product-management authority over prioritization in line with department and company goals, rather than serving only as a coordination role. The position is also responsible for documenting and presenting the team's impact to stakeholders. The Data Enablement Team builds and maintains foundational data infrastructure for company decision-making, including data ingestion, transformation, and modeling, and provides clean, reliable, accessible datasets through a centralized data warehouse. The team uses Snowflake, dbt, and Python to support a scalable and efficient data platform.

Requirements

  • Proven experience managing development of internal software or data assets, ideally within an engineering, platform, or data organization.
  • Experience working with technical and non-technical stakeholders and translating between them.
  • Working knowledge of databases, ETLs, and BI tools sufficient to have informed conversations with engineers about feasibility and trade-offs.
  • Demonstrable experience with request-management and prioritization frameworks in a technical environment.
  • Experience contributing to governance or process improvement within a team.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document processes clearly for a technical audience.
  • Ability to work independently, use sound judgment on prioritization, and raise complex or cross-team trade-offs with the Data Enablement Director.
  • Embrace the YouGov values.
