About The Position

The Data & Digital Strategy Intern will support data modernization, analytics, automation, reporting, and AI initiatives across The Geysers geothermal operations. The role provides hands-on experience with operational data, business intelligence tools, databases, and emerging technologies to improve business processes and decision-making. The paid internship lasts approximately 10 weeks, from June 7, 2027 through August 13, 2027, and is based at the Geysers power plant in Middletown, California.

Requirements

• Pursuing a degree in Computer Information Systems, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field; must be a senior undergraduate or graduate student.
• SQL.
• Python.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Data analysis and problem solving.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.

• Master's student status is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analyze operational, engineering, maintenance, and business data.
• Develop reports, dashboards, and data visualizations.
• Support data modernization and reporting initiatives.
• Assist with data documentation, governance, and quality improvement efforts.
• Help identify opportunities to automate business processes.
• Support development and testing of reporting and analytics applications.
• Research and evaluate AI and digital technology opportunities.
• Create documentation and communicate findings to technical and business stakeholders.
