About The Position

We are looking for parents/guardians with children between the ages of 5-11 to participate in our Lantana Audio Collection project for native Spanish or Bilingual (English/Spanish) speaking Minors in the USA. The purpose of this project is to improve speech recognition technology for educational settings by collecting natural speech from children. The recordings will directly contribute to improving speech technology for students everywhere. It’s a simple way to make a real difference and have a little fun along the way!

Requirements

• Be over 18 years old.
• Be the legal guardian of the child(ren) you are registering.
• Sign the Parental Consent Form.
• Have a smartphone device to download and use the app for recording.
• Child(ren) must be 5-11 years old.
• Child(ren) must be a resident of the United States.
• Child(ren) must be a native speaker of Spanish (US).

Nice To Haves

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) speaking child(ren).

Responsibilities

• Record your child(ren) naming simple objects, numbers, letters, and colors.
• Record your child(ren) counting aloud to 50 or as far as they can go.
• Use an easy-to-use mobile app for recording.
• Review project guidelines.
• Ensure submissions meet project-specific requirements.
